As part of our department’s “Community Service Practices” course, our students continue to carry out various social responsibility projects. The most recent of these was carried out by a group of our third-year students under the leadership of Assistant Professor Dr. Talat Aytan. On December 10, 2016, our instructor and students visited a children’s home affiliated with the Edirne Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Policies, where they brought great joy to the children residing there with the various gifts they had prepared. Our students, who spent a fun-filled day with the children, said this visit was one of the most emotional experiences of their lives. At the end of the day, our students—who gained brothers and sisters as precious as diamonds—expressed that this visit would not be the first or the last. On behalf of our department, we thank our students for this wonderful visit and hope that such social responsibility activities will continue.
